In an event at Durham University, attendees discussed the cross-cutting opportunities and themes that enable renewables, aviation and automotive to move towards net-zero. Electrical research is so often siloed by application so the day focused on identifying synergies between applications driven by experts working within specific fields. The event lead to a first draft map of themes and challenges which identified routes towards rapid development of emerging and enabling electrical engineering technologies.
