Yang Xiao

Dr. Yang Xiao (FHEA, MIET, MIEEE), Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Electrical Machines at the University of Leicester, UK. He received the BSc from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, and PhD from University of Sheffield, UK, all in electrical and electronics engineering. Prior to joining Leicester, he was a Lecturer in School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a Senior Research Engineer in Dyson Technology Ltd, UK. He is he deputy director of undergraduate electrical and electronic engineering program and library officer in School of Engineering, University of Leicester. He serves as an associate editor for IEEE Trans. Energy Conversion. He was invited for keynote speeches in IEEE SCEMS 25 and CIEEC 21, tutorial in ISEEIE 24, and was awarded Best Paper Awards in ICPRE 25, SMART 24, ISEEIE 24, ICPRE 23, and CEFC 16 conferences.
His research interests include the design, manufacturing, and control of advanced electrical machine systems for electrified transportation and sustainable power generation, and artificial intelligence assisted tools for electrical machines.
